Kiwi Built Playground | Africa
A Worthy Contribution
Kiwi Built Playground Ngara Nursery. Meet Devon, her dream is to provide a playground for the Ngara Nursery in Malawi, Africa.
As a regular volunteer at an village called Ngara in Malawi, Africa. Over the last 2 years Devon has worked at Ngara children’s nursery and has transformed it. As a result it has gone from 20 children in an extremely run down unsafe building. To having a safe, educational and fun environment for 90 children. However, there is still one thing missing. A Playground!
Where we come in...
Park Supplies Playgrounds felt so moved by Devon’s story. We felt compelled to donate a full playground to Devon’s amazing cause. With support from some of our suppliers we designed and built a playground for the nursery. By incorporating a multi-play structure, slide, climbers and play truck complete with a swing set and Minidome Spinner.
Devon and her Father Kevin made a visit to our Auckland factory in December 2017 for a day during the manufacturing process to see the products being made and meet our team. The playground kit-set is now manufactured and shipped in April 2018. Devon and her family are traveling to Malawi in July to then install the playground with the village locals. Above all our philosophy at Park Supplies is all about local Kiwi designed and built playgrounds. Certainly we are so excited by the prospect to offer a New Zealand built playground to children across the globe. In conclusion we hope to offer these children the opportunity that they have never had to swing, slide or spin on playground equipment!
"Our children's playground donated by Park Supplies (Auckland) is on its way to Malawi tomorrow!!! I want to say a wholehearted thank you to Park Supplies for their dedication to the playground project and to Ngara Nursery school. Thank you so much for seeing every single inch of this project out Park Supplies, from designing something perfect for our nursery school children, to using vibrant colours and materials that are easy to maintain, and organising and funding the shipping of the playground!"
