An overwhelming time made easier through play
The leap from early childhood education into primary school can be quite overwhelming for some children with added stimulation, new faces and structured class time. Park Supplies & Playgrounds believe that improved continuity between early childhood and the school curriculum should also include playgrounds.
A junior playground (5-7 years) or a specific new entrants’ playground can make the transition easier and more fulfilling for the children by ensuring their skill levels are catered to and they are able to participate in all activities.
We appreciate that children learn at different paces which means some may require more stepping-stones. With this in mind we design and build new entrant play spaces where children can graduate from smaller spinners, swings, climbers, slides and overhead activities without the need to rush or feel pressured from their older or more able peers. This helps to build confidence amongst the new entrants and reduces safety issues by allowing children to play on equipment which is within their capabilities.
It can be quite easy for a child to lose interest or confidence if they cannot complete play activities, Park Supplies & Playgrounds run playground education sessions to help children understand how to use each piece of equipment effectively and why the play activities are beneficial to developing their overall movement. Park Supplies & Playgrounds design play spaces for early childhood right through to young adults and beyond. We understand what is required to help children transition and navigate from smaller play spaces into senior playgrounds and fitness trails.
