Expert Design

A great playground is more than just a collection of equipment, it’s a carefully designed space that promotes play, while still ensuring safety and longevity. Our design process blends creative vision with practical expertise to deliver a customised solution that’s perfect for your specific site. We specialise in designing playgrounds that offer superior play value and are perfectly suited to the unique demands of limited, awkward, or expansive spaces. Our design team works closely with you to understand your needs, budget, and desired themes, all while ensuring the final design is fully compliant with New Zealand Playground Safety Standards.

Customised to Your Site:
We specialise in designing playgrounds that offer superior play value and are perfectly suited to the unique demands of limited, awkward, or expansive spaces.

Safety & Compliance:
Our designs are fully compliant with the New Zealand Playground Safety Standards (NZS5828:2015).

The Design Process:
We work closely with you to understand your needs, budget, and desired themes, turning your vision into a durable, engaging, and unique reality, from initial concept sketches to detailed 3D layouts.

Superior Play Value:
A well-balanced playground should promote physical, emotional, social, and solitary play. We ensure a mix of elements to develop fine and gross motor skills, build strength and co-ordination, and facilitate social connection and self-confidence.

Custom Manufacturing

Our play equipment is New Zealand designed and manufactured, a fact we are very proud of. Where possible, we source locally and use environmentally sustainable materials.

With over 30 years of experience making playgrounds, we offer fully-customisable solutions designed specifically for your community. Our in-house design team can easily take your logo, motif, important words, or sketches and convert these to CNC engraving directly onto the panels, rockwalls, carousels, or fitness trails of your playground.

To ensure maximum durability, we offer a unique and resilient Protecting Coating System which includes pre-galvanised materials, followed by a layer of zinc shield that is baked on for superior thickness and adhesion, with a final polyester colour layer then applied and baked; this exclusive coating system guarantees your investment lasts for many years to come.

Furthermore, for all climbing activities, such as rope nets, we use Hercules Rope, a tough and durable 16mm diameter, steel-stranded, low-abrasion polyester-covered rope that ensures compliance with the grip requirements of the NZS5828:2015 safety standard, and is attached using our exclusive and innovative junctions and terminations that allow for easy and cost-effective future maintenance and replacement.

Site Preparation Requirements

Proper site preparation is a critical first step that directly impacts the safety, longevity, and ultimate success of your new playground installation. Before our team arrives to install your equipment, a well-prepared site ensures a smooth, efficient process and guarantees that the finished playground meets all necessary safety and engineering standards.

To ensure a smooth and cost-effective installation, we require the client to adhere to the following site preparation criteria prior to our arrival.

Equipment Removal:
The site must be clean and free from any excess ground / scrap / materials, and all access routes are clear and suitable for large trucks to pass through.

Underground Utilities:
It’s the client’s sole responsibility to check with relevant authorities and request an underground services plan. We take no responsibility for damage to fibre optics, power cables, drains, pipes, or any other foreign objects or underground services.

Site Levelling:
Unless otherwise stated, the installation quoted is based on a maximum of 2% fall/gradient across the affected work area. If the slope is in excess of this, excavation cut and levelling may be necessary at your cost.

Drainage Needs:
Unless the quote explicitly states otherwise, no provision or allowance for drainage has been included. Most playgrounds do not require drainage as the surface depth provides adequate runoff, but every site is different. Please discuss any concerns with our team prior to the installation date.

Vandalism & Contingency:
Unless otherwise stated, no provisions or contingency for any unforeseen costs, including vandalism, have been included in the project pricing or scope of works. It’s highly recommended that an additional contingency of 10% of the total project value is available for unforeseen costs, damage, or vandalism to the site, supplied equipment, or goods.

Onsite Amenities:
Please ensure a power point, water (hose tap), and a toilet are made available to our installation team.

Security:
Our staff and site personnel are rigorously background checked. We cannot provide prior police vet certificates. Information on police clearances for organisations providing services to vulnerable people is available via the Ministry of Justice.

Project Management & Installation

A successful playground project requires more than just great design and manufacturing, it demands seamless project management and professional installation. We take the hassle out of your hands, managing every step from the moment the equipment leaves our Auckland-based factory, to the moment the first child steps onto the surface.

Our experienced team handles all logistics, ensuring efficient scheduling, coordination of sub-contractors (if needed), and precise installation according to engineering and safety specifications. We prioritise safety, efficiency, and compliance to guarantee your new playground is installed correctly, on time, and fully ready for use.

Our Simple 8-Step Playground Process:

First Contact & Vision Sharing:
We start by learning about your school and community. We’ll ask questions, discuss your initial ideas, and establish a clear understanding of your needs and vision.

Onsite Consultation:
Once we have an idea of your goals, we’ll visit your proposed site. This is a crucial step where we meet with key stakeholders, including staff and students, to discuss your ideas, assess the practicalities of the location, and find out exactly what it is that you need and want.

Design Brief Development:
Following our onsite visit, we create a detailed design brief. This document captures all the ideas and technical requirements into one cohesive package that then goes to our design team.

Playground Design:
Our design team takes your brief and begins the creative process of turning it into reality. This stage involves deep technical knowledge, exceptional design skill, and a passion for crafting inspiring, imaginative, and fun playgrounds that children will love.

Proposal, Quote, & Funding Support:
With the design finalised, we provide you with a comprehensive proposal and detailed quotation for your review. We can also offer advice on potential funding pathways, if needed.

Manufacturing:
All our playgrounds are manufactured right here in New Zealand at our Auckland factory to your specific requirements. We pride ourselves on the quality of our materials and construction, ensuring a durable, high-quality finished product supported by a reliable New Zealand supply chain.

Project Management & Installation:
We provide complete project management for the installation phase, coordinating everything from ground works to the equipment and surfacing. This seamless, hands-off approach allows you to relax while we manage the build.

Grand Opening:
A new playground is an exciting moment for any community! We’ll be on hand to help you arrange and celebrate the official grand opening of your brand new play area.

Even the toughest playground equipment eventually needs attention. We offer comprehensive renovation and repair services to extend the life of your existing playground, ensuring it remains safe, engaging, and compliant with current standards.
